Welcome Phoebe

If you’ve visited Davis County Hospital & Clinics recently, you may have noticed a very special team member making her rounds — Phoebe, our friendly and lovable emotional support dog. With her calm demeanor and sweet personality, Phoebe has quickly become a familiar and comforting presence throughout our facility.
Phoebe has a special way of connecting with people. From her gently wagging tail to her patient, reassuring presence, she brings smiles wherever she goes. Whether she’s greeting patients in the hallways, offering quiet comfort during a difficult moment, or stopping by departments to brighten a staff member’s day, Phoebe’s visits often provide just the lift that’s needed. For many, a few minutes with Phoebe can turn an anxious or stressful day into one filled with warmth and reassurance.
The presence of an emotional support animal plays an important role in promoting emotional wellness and compassionate care. Research shows that therapy and emotional support animals can help reduce anxiety, lower blood pressure, and improve overall mood. At DCHC, we see those benefits firsthand. Patients often relax, open up, and feel more at ease when Phoebe is nearby, while staff appreciate the chance to pause, smile, and recharge during busy shifts.
Phoebe’s role reflects our ongoing commitment to caring for the whole person — mind, body, and spirit. By incorporating emotional support into the healthcare experience, we’re creating an environment that feels welcoming, supportive, and centered on kindness.
When she’s not making rounds, Phoebe enjoys meeting new friends, soaking up attention, and receiving plenty of belly rubs and ear scratches. But most of all, she loves being part of the DCHC family — a team dedicated to delivering compassionate care and making each day a little brighter for our patients, visitors, and staff.
