Dr. Floyd specializes in taking care of adult patients with chronic health conditions, such as diabetes, heart disease and lung problems. In addition, he has special interest in taking care of problems involving the gastrointestinal tract and performs special procedures such as upper endoscopy & colonoscopy. After completing her residency, she served in the Army as a physician for 4 years stationed at Ft. Leonard Wood in Missouri

Being a Family Physician, Dr. Settles takes care of all ages. She helps them with well visits, physicals, disease prevention as well as acute and chronic diagnoses.

She is married to Jake Settles D.O., and they have 4 children and have lived in Davis County since 2007. The activities of their children keep them busy and they are also active in their church, helping with children and youth ministries.

Biography

Dr. Brewer has been practicing medicine for over 15 years. She completed her General Internal Medicine Residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, followed by a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. She comes to DCHC from Northeast Regional Medical Center, where she was the Hospital Medicine Medical Director. Dr. Brewer recently received her certification in Obesity Medicine.

Dr. Brewer and her family live in Kirksville, Missouri. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking with whole foods, kayaking, paddleboarding, spending time outdoors, and encouraging others to do the same.

Dr. Silas Shin

Dr. Shin is a board-certified family physician with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, a master’s degree in religious education, and a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Liberty University College of Medicine. Dr. Shin is eager to join a rural community where he can establish strong relationships with his patients and aid in community health needs.

Nakila Blessing, ARNP

Nakila Blessing, MSN, ARNP, FNP-BC, is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Davis County Hospital & Clinics who is passionate about providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals and families across all stages of life.

Nakila earned her Bachelor of Science in Health Sciences in 2010, her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in 2012, and her Master of Science in Nursing in 2016 from Maryville University in St. Louis, Missouri. She is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Her nursing career began in 2012 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, where she cared for patients on a pulmonary progressive care unit and in the emergency department. She also served as a staff nurse and home health nurse at Scotland County Hospital. In 2016, she transitioned to advanced practice nursing, providing care in the Quick Care clinic at MercyOne Centerville. Nakila joined Davis County Hospital & Clinics in 2024.

Nakila's clinical interests include lifespan and multi-generational care. She enjoys partnering with patients to develop evidence-based care plans that align with their individual needs, goals, and preferences. Her approach emphasizes holistic, health-promotion-focused care and helping patients address multiple health concerns through collaborative decision-making.

When she is not caring for patients, Nakila enjoys reading, bicycling, fishing, and gardening.

Paige Helton, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C, is a Family Nurse Practitioner at Davis County Hospital & Clinics who is dedicated to providing comprehensive, patient-centered care for individuals and families across all stages of life.

Paige earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Grand View University in 2020. She went on to complete her Master of Science in Nursing as a Family Nurse Practitioner at Walden University in 2022. She is board certified through the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP).

Throughout her nursing career, Paige has gained diverse clinical experience in skilled nursing care, hospice, infusion therapy, home health, and outpatient clinic settings. This broad background has helped her develop a well-rounded approach to caring for patients with a variety of healthcare needs.

As a Family Nurse Practitioner, Paige focuses on preventive care, wellness, and empowering patients to take an active role in their health. She believes that proactive healthcare begins with healthy lifestyle choices, including balanced nutrition, regular physical activity, stress management, and routine health screenings. Susan Turner, ARNP

Women's Health Nurse Practitioner

Susan Turner, ARNP-BC, IF, is a board-certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner with more than 20 years of experience providing compassionate, evidence-based reproductive and gynecologic healthcare. She is dedicated to helping patients navigate every stage of life through personalized care, education, and open communication.

Susan earned her Associate Degree in Nursing from Indian Hills Community College in 1995 and completed her Women's Health Nurse Practitioner Certificate through the Family Planning Council of Iowa in conjunction with Drake University in 2001. She is a Board-Certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner, an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) in Iowa, and a Certified Menopause Provider with advanced education and training in menopause care. She is also a Fellow of the International Society for the Study of Women's Sexual Health (ISSWSH), reflecting her specialized expertise in sexual health and wellness.

Throughout her career, Susan has cared for patients in community health and specialty clinic settings, helping women address a wide range of reproductive and gynecologic health concerns. Her clinical interests include reproductive health across the lifespan, menstrual concerns, contraceptive counseling and family planning, fertility evaluation, sexually transmitted infection (STI) prevention and treatment, and preventive gynecologic care. She has developed particular expertise in perimenopause and menopause management, including evidence-based hormone therapy, as well as the evaluation and treatment of sexual health concerns.

Susan also performs a variety of office-based gynecologic procedures, including IUD and Nexplanon insertion, endometrial biopsy, and vulvar biopsy. In addition, she has provided leadership for reproductive health programs, including Title X services, and has extensive experience caring for diverse patient populations.

Susan believes in partnering with patients to develop individualized care plans that align with their goals, preferences, and healthcare needs. She values collaboration with primary care providers and specialists to ensure coordinated, comprehensive care.
