Dr. Brewer has been practicing medicine for over 15 years. She completed her General Internal Medicine Residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, followed by a Critical Care Medicine Fellowship at the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics. She comes to DCHC from Northeast Regional Medical Center, where she was the Hospital Medicine Medical Director. Dr. Brewer recently received her certification in Obesity Medicine.
Dr. Brewer and her family live in Kirksville, Missouri. In her spare time, she enjoys gardening, cooking with whole foods, kayaking, paddleboarding, spending time outdoors, and encouraging others to do the same.

She is married to Jake Settles D.O., and they have 4 children and have lived in Davis County since 2007. The activities of their children keep them busy and they are also active in their church, helping with children and youth ministries.

In my spare time, I enjoy playing soccer, traveling and spending time with wife and 6 children. In my daily travels I enjoy listening to Audiobooks and enjoy history.
Upon completion of my Sports Medicine Fellowship- I relocated to the Midwest and began my practice in Iowa. I cover several Critical Access hospitals and enjoy working in rural communities. At times it can be challenging but I find it very rewarding providing big city practices closer to home. We strive in staying current with the most up -to- date proven advances and best practices in Orthopedics. We provide specialty procedures like Iovera(cryanalgesia) prior to total knee replacements. We pride ourselves in bringing Quality Care Close to Home.
Dr. Whitman is highly skilled in the surgical and medical treatment of head and neck diseases. He will provide comprehensive head and neck care, including pediatric and adult allergy diagnosis and treatment, facial plastics, skin lesion excision and repair, surgery for chronic sinus disease and nasal obstruction, surgery of the head and neck for obstructive sleep apnea and snoring, and the surgical management of the ears, tonsils, throat, voice, thyroid, parathyroid, salivary glands and neck masses.

Dr. Whitman is an Ear, Nose & Throat (ENT) provider with UnityPoint Health Grinnell ENT Clinic, who is available to see patients at Davis County Hospital & Clinics in Bloomfield on Fridays each week, while also performing surgery at DCHC on those days.
Dr. Whitman received his Bachelor of Science degree from Mount Mercy University in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, followed by his Masters of Science and Biomedical Sciences degree from A.T. Still University in Kirksville, Missouri. Dr. Whitman remained at A.T. Still University where he received his medical degree in Osteopathic Medicine. He then completed his general surgery internship & Otolaryngology residency at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
